sounds like your friend has dry damaged hair.
hot oil treatments and heavy conditioning should help the matter but regular hair cuts will help improve the health of their hair. they might want to invest in some heat protectant if they do lots of drying, straightening, or dying of the hair. it also might not be a bad idea to cut back a little on some of the damaging factors. don’t dye your hair every 2 weeks. if your roots aren’t bad don’t worry about it, if you really must dye your hair that often, then only do semi permanent colors that aren’t as harsh.
